Pestalozzi Technology was founded in 2019 by CEO Taishi Inoue, a former member of Waseda University's School of Sport Sciences and American football team, who later challenged himself by pursuing a career in the NFL on his own.
With support from the Waseda University Center for Entrepreneurship, the company has rapidly grown to a team of 35 members (including part-time staff and interns) and is now considered one of the university’s most promising ventures.
Guided by the purpose of “Turning physical activity data into meaningful value,” Pestalozzi Technology has been providing its digital fitness test scoring system, ALPHA, to educational institutions since 2020.
As of 2024, ALPHA has been adopted by approximately 4,200 schools across 48 municipalities in 7 prefectures in Japan. The company now holds exercise data for more than 2.2 million individuals.
Through the delivery and application of its product, Pestalozzi Technology is gaining increasing attention from schools and public institutions as a key player in accelerating digital transformation and leveraging data to support the physical growth and development of children.

In addition to product development, the company actively promotes collaborative research using physical activity data with renowned experts such as Professor Koji Kanaoka of Waseda University and Associate Professor Hiroya Suzuki of Juntendo University.
To further enhance these efforts, Pestalozzi Technology has now established its own in-house research center to accelerate studies on data utilization.
